Well, dear friends, the time has finally come to say what I’ve been doing over the last few weeks.
It turns out that my weekend in the Algarve turned into a whole week.
Here’s how it happened: when I found out that a friend of mine was visiting the Algarve, I decided to invite a few friends to go there for the weekend. The turnout was better than I expected: 75% of the G.A.T.A’s (meaning everyone except Olga) and Mana-boa.
We left Lisbon late Friday night, and arrived in Vilamoura about 3 hours later.
Vilamoura is, according to most sources (including my personal opinion, of course) one of the most beautiful towns in the Algarve, along with Lagos and Tavira. My friend Carolina has a house there, on a private set of apartments.
Let me tell you: it’s great! It’s like being in a Spa. Here’s the routine: we wake up quite late, have some lunch, go to the pool, play cards or see some episodes of ‘Desperate Housewives’ or ‘CSI’, go to the pool, have dinner, and go out for a night on the town with the rest of Lisbon. I say this because every summer the Great Migration takes place: the whole country goes south, kind of like the birds do, in the Winter time.
It’s funny: I have neighbours that live two blocks from me, and that I haven’t seen in ages, and I find them there.
Anyway, Sunday night we returned to Lisbon, and Tuesday Carol and I went back south. This time with her mother, brother and cousins.
We seldom saw her brother, Daniel. He came back at 7h00, woke up at 17h00, had something to eat and left again. But her cousins are still children, and they’re really sweet.
We had a great time there. The expedition was a big success (despite the little incident that gave it the name: I ended up not seeing that friend).
This last week I spent in Lisbon. Not a great deal of action, but I’ve been having a good time anyway. Lot’s of reading and movie watching.
I’m spending the weekend close to Ericeira, at Catarina’s house. Carol is coming as well. The plan is: party on Friday night, then beach on Saturday.
Bigger news: if all goes well, I’m going to Málaga (Spain) with Carol, next week. It’s going to be the Expedition “Malageña Salerosa”.
Thanks for all the comments to my last post!
Kiss kiss bang bang

PS: I’ll post some real pictures when I get them! :p
